Popular Nigerian music producer, Sarz, has revealed how pride and ego almost affected his relationship with other artists and producers during the early stage of his career.
The award-winning producer, whose real name is Osabuohien Osaretin, made the revelation during a recent interview with The Fadar.
According to the 37-year-old hitmaker, he used to believe he was superior to everyone else in the music industry when he first started making music.
Sarz admitted that he was extremely hot-headed and constantly felt the need to prove himself to others.
“When I started making music, I was very hot-headed,” he said.
The producer confessed that he genuinely believed he was the best thing to happen to music and often looked down on fellow creatives in the industry.
“I just thought I was the best thing to exist in music,” Sarz admitted.
Known for producing several hit songs for top Nigerian artists over the years, Sarz explained that his mindset eventually changed as he gained more experience and maturity.
According to him, growth taught him that nobody knows everything and that learning from others is important regardless of their level in the industry.
The producer said he is now more open-minded and willing to collaborate with anybody, including newcomers trying to find their feet in music.
“But now I understand that I don’t know it all. I’m always willing to learn from anyone, even someone who just started yesterday,” he added.
