US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh warning to Iran, threatening military action if Tehran fails to rein in Hezbollah amid renewed tensions in Lebanon.
The warning comes as American and Iranian officials meet in Switzerland for high-level talks aimed at preserving a fragile peace agreement reached earlier this month.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump accused Iran-backed Hezbollah of undermining stability in the region and warned that further provocations could trigger a strong US response.
“If they don’t, we’ll hit Iran very hard again,” Trump warned.
His comments follow recent clashes between Israeli forces and Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon, raising concerns that the violence could jeopardize ongoing diplomatic efforts.
At least 30 people were reportedly killed in Israeli airstrikes across parts of Lebanon before a temporary halt in hostilities was announced.
Despite the tensions, US Vice President JD Vance expressed optimism about the situation, saying recent progress had helped maintain the ceasefire and move the region closer to stability.
The latest developments come as Washington and Tehran continue negotiations over broader regional issues, with both sides under pressure to prevent a return to full-scale conflict.
