Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed gratitude to residents following his re-election, describing the outcome as a humbling endorsement of his administration’s performance and vision for the state.
Reacting after being declared winner of Saturday’s governorship election, the governor said the overwhelming support shown by voters reflects their commitment to continuity, stability and progress.
“I am deeply humbled by the scale of this victory,” Oyebanji said.
The governor noted that the election result, which saw him secure victories across all 16 local government areas, places a greater responsibility on his administration to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.
According to him, the mandate is not just a political victory but a call to deepen development efforts and ensure that governance positively impacts every community and household in the state.
Oyebanji also stressed the need for unity, saying the election should not divide the people of Ekiti but instead strengthen their collective determination to move the state forward.
The governor pledged to continue leading with fairness, humility and dedication while building on the achievements recorded during his first term.
INEC had earlier declared Oyebanji winner of the election after polling 319,224 votes, ahead of PDP candidate Oluwole Oluyede, who secured 40,543 votes, and ADC candidate Dare Bejide, who polled 12,872 votes.
The victory gives the APC candidate another term to continue implementing his administration’s programmes across the state.
