Popular TikTok creator and entrepreneur, Linda Cyril, has shared her thoughts on why many influencers are missing out on brand opportunities despite having large followings online.
Speaking during an interview, the content creator, who boasts over two million followers on TikTok, said unrealistic pricing and inflexibility are among the reasons some influencers struggle to secure partnerships with brands.
According to Linda, while influencers deserve to be paid for their work, some creators may be setting rates that are beyond the reach of many businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.
“Many influencers are very rigid with their pricing, and I feel some are pricing themselves out of opportunities,” she said.
The social media star explained that brands are increasingly looking beyond follower counts and focusing on value, engagement, and return on investment.
Drawing from her own experience as both an influencer and business owner, Linda revealed that she understands the concerns of brands because she has had to hire influencers herself.
She noted that paying huge amounts for a single post does not always guarantee results, adding that creators should sometimes focus on building long-term relationships with brands rather than chasing one-off high-paying deals.
Linda, whose content creation journey took off after a viral TikTok video in 2021, also encouraged aspiring influencers to think beyond social media fame.
According to her, content creation can open doors, but creators should invest in businesses and other income streams because online popularity may not last forever.
The entrepreneur, who recently expanded into the beauty industry with the launch of a hair salon and spa, said success now means more than going viral. For her, it is about building sustainable businesses, creating opportunities, and enjoying peace of mind.
