Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have recorded another major success in the fight against insecurity after rescuing 22 kidnapped victims during separate operations in Sokoto State.
The rescue missions were carried out in Sabon Birni and Isa Local Government Areas following intelligence reports and distress calls from affected communities.
According to military authorities, the first operation was launched after terrorists reportedly blocked the Sabon Birni–Shinkafi Road and attacked commercial vehicles, abducting several passengers.

Rescued Victims
The attackers were said to have killed one civilian before fleeing with the victims into nearby hideouts.
However, troops quickly mobilised and, with support from aerial surveillance, launched a coordinated pursuit that forced the terrorists to abandon their captives and escape.
As a result, 17 kidnapped passengers were rescued safely and handed over to the appropriate authorities.
In a separate operation on the same day, troops responded to reports of an attack on farmers in Chohi Village, Isa Local Government Area.
The security operatives immediately moved into the area and pursued the armed bandits, forcing them to release five abducted farmers.
The rescued victims were later reunited with their families.
Following the successful operations, troops conducted patrols in nearby communities to reassure residents and strengthen security across the affected areas.
Reacting to the development, military authorities said the operations demonstrate their commitment to protecting lives, securing communities, and preventing criminal elements from operating freely in the region.
The military also assured residents that ongoing operations against terrorists and bandits would continue until lasting peace is restored across the North-West.
