Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to empowering young entrepreneurs and creating a business-friendly environment that will attract more investments and boost economic activities across the state.
The governor made this known during the commissioning of a new hospitality facility, Backroom Lounge, in Osogbo, where he highlighted what he described as the steady transformation of Osun’s economy since he assumed office.
Represented by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Bunmi Jenyo, Adeleke said the state capital and surrounding communities are witnessing increased commercial activities, with some areas gradually operating a thriving 24-hour economy.
According to him, Osun is no longer dependent solely on civil service jobs, as deliberate government policies have opened doors for private investments, business expansion, and economic development.
The governor noted that the growing number of businesses springing up across the state is evidence that investors are beginning to see Osun as an attractive destination for commerce, hospitality, sports, and entertainment.
Adeleke also praised the proprietor of the newly commissioned facility for choosing to invest in Osun, describing it as a vote of confidence in the state’s economic potential. He revealed that the same investor had earlier established a mini stadium in 2024, adding that the latest project further demonstrates the opportunities available within the state.
The governor stressed that his administration would continue to encourage and support young people willing to invest in productive sectors of the economy, especially those capable of creating jobs and stimulating local development.
He added that the government is determined to ensure that residents can enjoy quality business and leisure opportunities within Osun rather than travelling to other states for entertainment and investment purposes.
As part of efforts to further strengthen the state’s economy, Adeleke disclosed that about 12 new industries have already been allocated land at the revitalised Living Spring Free Trade Zone in Ede.The development, according to him, is expected to generate over 10,000 direct jobs while also creating additional opportunities for businesses and local communities.
The governor expressed optimism that with continued investments and support for entrepreneurs, Osun will emerge as one of Nigeria’s leading destinations for business growth, innovation, and employment generation.
