Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has assured residents that his administration remains committed to delivering more development projects and improving the lives of the people across the state.
Marking his third anniversary in office, the governor said the “Rivers First” agenda has remained the driving force behind every policy, programme and project executed by his administration since assuming office in 2023.
In a message released on Friday, Fubara explained that his government’s focus has always been on putting the interests of Rivers people first while ensuring that public resources are used for projects that directly benefit citizens.
The governor highlighted several major infrastructure projects undertaken by his administration, noting that the goal is to improve connectivity, boost economic activities and open up more opportunities for communities across the state.
Among the projects he mentioned are the Port Harcourt Ring Road, the Trans-Kalabari Highway, the Elele–Umudioga–Egbeda–Ubimini–Ikiri–Omoku Road and the Ngo-Atlantic/Oyorokoto Road.
According to him, these projects are part of a broader vision to transform Rivers State into a major investment destination capable of attracting businesses, creating jobs and stimulating economic growth.
Fubara also pointed to achievements in the education and healthcare sectors, while stressing that peace and security have remained top priorities for his administration.
The governor thanked Rivers residents for their support and trust over the past three years, saying the progress recorded so far was made possible through the cooperation, resilience and determination of the people.
“What we have achieved in three years shows that when government and citizens work together, meaningful progress can be achieved,” he said.
He further pledged to continue leading with transparency and accountability, assuring residents that every project and government policy would continue to reflect the needs and aspirations of the people.
While acknowledging that several challenges still exist, Fubara called on youths, women, elders, traders, farmers, professionals and other stakeholders to continue supporting efforts aimed at moving Rivers State forward.
The governor also joined Nigerians in celebrating 27 years of uninterrupted democratic rule, describing it as a major milestone in the country’s political history.
Fubara has been at the centre of intense political battles since taking office in May 2023, but despite the challenges, he insists his administration remains focused on development, economic growth and improving the welfare of Rivers people.
