Celebrity nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chiefpriest has finally broken silence on his long-running fallout with Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy, claiming the music star turned against him despite their close relationship in the past.
Speaking during a recent interview on The Beat 99.9 FM, Chiefpriest revealed that Burna Boy once performed regularly at his events before their friendship eventually collapsed.
According to him, the singer allegedly started attacking him publicly and questioning the source of his wealth.
“Success comes with a lot of hate. I was on my own and Burna came for me,” he said.
Chiefpriest claimed Burna Boy used his influence on social media to push narratives aimed at damaging his image and reputation.
“He went on his platform and started saying things that were not true. The attack was directly on my wealth and personality,” he stated.
The socialite also expressed disappointment, saying he played a role in supporting Burna Boy during the early stages of his music career.
“This is someone we supported, booked and paid back then. So it hurt seeing him come after me,” he added.
According to Chiefpriest, the tension between both men may also be connected to his close friendship with Afrobeats superstar Davido.
He claimed Burna Boy became uncomfortable with how close he and Davido had become over the years.
“That whole issue happened because of my relationship with Davido. Davido has always shown up for me and supported my businesses,” he said.
Chiefpriest further disclosed that the drama eventually motivated him to venture into music himself, insisting he wanted to prove he could succeed in any field he chooses.
“I realised I could also do music if I wanted to. I just wanted to show that I can do anything I put my mind to,” he said.
The comments have since sparked reactions online, with fans of both artistes debating the real cause of the fallout between the former friends.
