A Nigerian man, Etinosa Osahon, has been arrested by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Los Angeles over alleged fraud-related offences.
According to ICE, the 49-year-old Nigerian national is currently in custody and facing possible deportation proceedings.
In a statement shared on X, ICE Los Angeles said Osahon’s criminal record includes allegations of stealing, possession of stolen mail, bank fraud and aggravated identity theft.
“ICE Los Angeles arrested Etinosa Osahon, 49, of Nigeria,” the agency stated.
The US immigration agency added that Osahon remains in detention pending further removal proceedings.
The arrest is part of a broader crackdown by US authorities targeting foreign nationals with alleged criminal records.
In recent months, the Donald Trump administration has intensified immigration enforcement measures affecting several countries, including Nigeria.
The development also comes weeks after another Nigerian national, Olatunde Olusanjo, was arrested by ICE over alleged sexual offence-related charges.
