Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has blamed the United States for rising tensions and insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz, calling for regional disputes to be resolved through diplomacy.
Araqchi made the remarks on Monday, October 19, during a joint news conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
The Iranian minister also urged countries in the region to work together towards establishing a common security arrangement to maintain stability without relying on foreign military forces.
“We welcome any initiative that leads to security from within without the presence of foreign forces, and consider it the right move,” Araqchi said.
His comments reflect Iran’s position that regional countries should take responsibility for their own security, rather than depend on outside military involvement.
