The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it recovered N1.233 trillion and secured 10,872 convictions during the 34-month period between October 1, 2023, and July 31, 2026.
The commission disclosed the figures in a video published on its official X account, highlighting its activities under EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede.
According to the EFCC, it received 49,673 petitions during the period, describing petitions as an important starting point for its investigations.
The anti-graft agency said it investigated 39,615 cases and filed 14,476 cases in court, which resulted in the 10,872 convictions recorded within the period.
The commission said the N1.233 trillion recovered came from investigations into different forms of financial crime, including advance-fee fraud, cybercrime, money laundering, bank fraud and economic governance-related offences.
The EFCC said investigators traced financial transactions and followed money trails linked to suspected financial crimes as part of efforts to recover funds.
It described the recovery figure as part of the agency’s record under Olukoyede and said each recovery represented the outcome of investigations and financial tracing.
The commission also said its enforcement activities were aimed at strengthening the fight against economic and financial crimes and protecting public resources.
The agency noted that its work would continue as it pursues investigations, prosecutions and asset recovery.
“The work continues,” the EFCC said.
