The family of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has appealed for help after revealing that the actor has been diagnosed with stage four cancer.
The family made the disclosure in videos shared on social media by Ogogo’s daughters, Kira and Lima, who are seeking medical assistance and recommendations for possible treatment options.
According to Kira, the actor’s condition was discovered about three weeks ago and has affected his abdomen.
She said some hospitals treating the actor had informed the family that they could no longer administer chemotherapy.
“I am here for my daddy. He has cancer, and it is stage 4. The hospital is saying that they cannot treat him again—they cannot give him chemo anymore,” Kira said.
The actor’s daughter clarified that the family was not primarily appealing for financial assistance but was seeking anyone who could recommend a medical facility or specialist capable of treating her father.
She also acknowledged the support of Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, who represents Ogun West and has reportedly been assisting the family with medical expenses.
Family Appeals for Medical Assistance
Another daughter, Lima, also appealed to members of the public to connect the family with anyone who might be able to provide further medical assistance.
She said the senator had promised to continue supporting the family financially but stressed that their immediate concern was finding possible treatment options for Ogogo.
“If you know someone that knows someone willing to treat him, I would appreciate it. I cannot watch my daddy die,” she said.
The family said they were open to exploring available treatment options and urged anyone with relevant medical connections to contact them.
Ogogo Reportedly Unable to Travel Abroad
Responding to a comment from socialite Yhemo Lee, Lima reportedly said Ogogo was currently not fit to be flown abroad for treatment.
The family therefore appears focused on finding suitable treatment and medical expertise that can assist the actor where he is currently receiving care.
Ogogo is a veteran Nigerian actor who has built a longstanding career in the Yoruba-language film industry.
The family’s appeal has generated concern and support from fans and colleagues, with many expressing hopes for the actor’s recovery.
