Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has assured residents that his administration will continue to deliver critical infrastructure despite the limited time remaining in his tenure.
Fubara gave the assurance on Tuesday while commissioning the reconstructed 12.1-kilometre Egwi-Afara-Mba Road in Etche Local Government Area.
The governor said the remaining period of his administration would not prevent him from completing projects capable of having a lasting impact on the people.
Although he admitted that he would have wished to accomplish more, Fubara stressed that governance must remain focused on improving the socio-economic wellbeing of residents.
He also promised to provide a standard medical facility in Etche before the end of his tenure, following a request from the Etche Local Government Chairman, Chima Njoku, for improved healthcare infrastructure.
Fubara said the reconstruction of the Egwi-Afara-Mba Road began in November 2024 and was conceived during one of the most challenging periods of his administration.
According to him, the decision to undertake the project was based on its potential long-term benefits to the people rather than the difficulties surrounding its execution.
He said the completed road would improve connectivity, stimulate economic activities and enhance the quality of life of residents in the area.
The governor also commended the Etche council chairman for efforts to provide electricity and improve security in the community.
