Nigerian music star Davido has celebrated the re-election of his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, as governor of Osun State.
The singer took to X shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke, the Accord Party candidate, winner of the governorship election.
In a brief reaction to the result, Davido simply wrote:
“We did it.”
Adeleke secured 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 444,815 votes.
The result gives Adeleke another four years as governor after his victory in the closely contested election.
Davido, who is a prominent member of the Adeleke family, has openly supported his uncle’s political journey and has repeatedly celebrated his achievements.
Adeleke’s latest victory further highlights the political influence of the Adeleke family in Osun State.
