The All Progressives Congress (APC) says it has successfully uploaded the details of all its governorship, deputy governorship and State House of Assembly candidates for the 2027 general elections to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Candidate Nomination Portal.
The announcement was made on Friday by the party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who described the exercise as a major milestone ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to Yilwatda, the ruling party completed the upload before the August 8, 2026 deadline set by INEC for political parties to submit the names and particulars of their candidates.
In a statement shared on his official X account, the APC chairman congratulated party leaders, members and candidates for the successful completion of the nomination process.
He disclosed that the APC achieved a 100 percent upload of all its candidates across the country.
“Congratulations to our leaders, members, and candidates across the country on the successful completion of the nomination process for the 2027 general elections,” Yilwatda said.
The APC chairman revealed that the party successfully uploaded the details of 56 governorship and deputy governorship candidates as well as 1,015 State House of Assembly candidates to the INEC portal.
According to him, the achievement reflects the party’s strong organisational structure and readiness for the next stage of the electoral process.
“I am pleased to announce that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has successfully achieved a 100% upload of all our 56 Governorship and Deputy Governorship, and 1,015 State House of Assembly candidates on the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal,” he stated.
Yilwatda added that with the nomination phase now completed, the APC would shift its attention to campaigning and engaging Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said the party would continue promoting the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda while preparing for the polls.
“With this phase successfully concluded, we remain focused on engaging Nigerians with our vision and building on the achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda as we prepare for victory in 2027,” he added.
The successful completion of the upload means the APC has met one of INEC’s key requirements ahead of the next phase of the electoral process.
