Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a fresh reduction in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, and Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel), offering some relief to marketers and consumers.
The new prices will take effect from Thursday, August 6, as the refinery says the move is part of its commitment to making refined petroleum products more affordable and accessible across Nigeria.
Under the revised pricing structure, the ex-depot price of petrol (PMS) has been reduced from ₦1,215 per litre to ₦1,165 per litre, representing a ₦50 reduction per litre.
Similarly, the ex-depot price of diesel has been lowered from ₦1,650 per litre to ₦1,570 per litre, a reduction of ₦80 per litre.
According to the refinery, the latest price adjustment reflects its continued efforts to improve energy affordability, expand access to refined petroleum products and support economic activities across the country.
The company said it remains committed to maintaining a stable supply of petroleum products while leveraging operational efficiencies to deliver greater value to consumers, businesses and other stakeholders.
Dangote Refinery also reiterated its role in strengthening Nigeria’s energy security by reducing dependence on imported petroleum products through local refining.
“As Africa’s largest refinery, Dangote Petroleum Refinery continues to play a pivotal role in strengthening Nigeria’s energy security, reducing reliance on imports, and supporting the nation’s economic development through the supply of world-class petroleum products,” the company stated.
The refinery further assured Nigerians that it would continue to pass the benefits of improved operational efficiency to consumers whenever market conditions make it possible.
