The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has opened a Physical Complaint Centre at its headquarters in Oshodi as part of efforts to improve transparency, accountability and public engagement.
The agency also announced that its newly launched 3367 toll-free hotline received 2,843 public engagements within its first 30 days of operation.
According to figures released by LASTMA’s Digital Centre, which manages the hotline, the engagements covered the period between June 28 and July 29, 2026.
The agency said the calls included:
- 1,047 enquiry calls
- 709 commendation calls
- 468 successfully resolved cases
- 400 accident and vehicle breakdown reports
- 163 formal complaints
- 11 information requests
- 45 unsuccessful calls due to abandoned calls, network challenges and technical issues.
Speaking on the development, LASTMA General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, described the response as evidence of the public’s growing confidence in the agency.
“This is a profound affirmation of the Agency’s unwavering pursuit of operational excellence, institutional integrity, administrative transparency and service delivery,” he said.
Bakare-Oki noted that the strong response demonstrates that residents increasingly see LASTMA as a responsive institution committed to improving road safety and traffic management across Lagos.
He also announced the establishment of the Physical Complaint Centre, explaining that it was created for members of the public who prefer face-to-face interactions.
According to him, the centre will allow residents to report traffic-related concerns, seek clarification on issues and lodge complaints about the conduct of LASTMA officials.
“The Physical Complaint Centre complements our 3367 Toll-Free Call Centre by providing members of the public who prefer face-to-face engagement with a convenient platform to report traffic-related concerns, seek clarifications and lodge complaints regarding the conduct of our officers,” he said.
The LASTMA boss assured residents that all complaints would be thoroughly investigated in line with established administrative procedures and the principles of fairness.
He also reaffirmed the agency’s zero-tolerance policy on corruption, extortion and other forms of misconduct.
“Every genuine complaint received through any of the Agency’s reporting channels will be subjected to an impartial, transparent and exhaustive investigation, and any officer found culpable will be sanctioned in accordance with the Public Service Rules and the Agency’s disciplinary framework,” Bakare-Oki stated.
He added that both the toll-free hotline and the new complaint centre form part of LASTMA’s broader reform programme aimed at promoting transparency, strengthening public trust and improving communication with road users.
Bakare-Oki further encouraged motorists, commuters, transport operators, corporate organisations and civil society groups to make responsible use of the reporting channels to help improve road safety and traffic management across Lagos.
