The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reminded eligible Nigerians that the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise will officially end on Sunday, July 26, 2026, urging those yet to register to do so before the deadline.
In a public notice shared on its official X account on Saturday, the electoral body encouraged prospective voters to take advantage of the remaining time to register and secure their eligibility to vote in the 2027 general elections.
“Your future won’t wait. Neither should you. The Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise ends Sunday, 26 July 2026,” INEC stated.
The commission explained that eligible Nigerians can complete their voter registration online through its dedicated CVR portal or visit any designated registration centre across the country for physical assistance.
INEC also urged those who need help with the process to visit any of its state offices, local government area offices or approved registration centres before the exercise closes.
According to the commission, all registration centres will remain open daily, including weekends, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. until the registration exercise ends.
The CVR exercise is part of INEC’s preparations for the 2027 general elections, allowing eligible Nigerians, first-time voters and those seeking to update their voter information to be included in the national register of voters.
The commission urged citizens not to wait until the last minute, stressing that no extension has been announced.
