President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 individuals into the boards and leadership of 10 federal agencies and commissions, with former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose appointed as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA).
The appointments, announced by the Presidency, take immediate effect and are part of efforts to strengthen key government institutions.
Fayose will lead the REA board alongside Ahmadu Abubakar and Ilyasu Makinta as non-executive directors, while the agency’s Director-General, Abba Aliyu, and existing executive directors remain on the board.
President Tinubu also appointed Major General Junaid Bindawa as Chairman of the National Salary and Wages Commission, with former lawmaker Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas named Secretary of the commission.
Several new commissioners and members were also appointed to the commission, representing different states across the country.
In another development, Tosin Adeyanju, who was previously appointed Executive Secretary of the National Lottery Trust Fund (NLTF), has been reassigned as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission.
Other notable appointments include:
- Abuh Mohammed – Director-General, National Population Commission (NPC)
- Akinola Odeyemi – Managing Director, Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading (NBET)
- Anthony Godwin – Chairman/CEO, Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission
- Julius Oloro – CEO, National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM)
- Shuni Dahiru – Executive Secretary, National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education
- Gisaor Vincent Iorja – Executive Director (Finance), Federal Housing Authority
President Tinubu also approved a new board for the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, with Abdullahi Saidu appointed as chairman alongside other members.
According to the Presidency, all the appointments take immediate effect.
