First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has partnered with 247 Travels to introduce “Book Now, Fly Later,” a new financing programme that allows eligible customers to borrow up to ₦10 million to pay for international flight tickets and repay the loan over three to nine months.
The initiative is designed to make international travel more affordable by allowing customers to spread the cost of airfare for purposes such as business, education, medical treatment, tourism and family commitments.
According to FCMB, the facility is available exclusively for airline tickets booked through 247 Travels, while both salaried and self-employed customers who meet the bank’s eligibility requirements can apply.
Successful applicants are expected to receive loan approval and disbursement within 24 working hours, after which their flight tickets will be issued.
Speaking on the launch, FCMB’s Managing Director, Yemisi Edun, said the initiative reflects the bank’s commitment to making financial services more accessible.
“At FCMB, we believe banking should empower people to pursue their goals without unnecessary financial strain. Our Book Now, Fly Later solution makes travel more accessible and affordable while giving customers flexibility to manage their finances responsibly,” she said.
Edun added that the programme aligns with the bank’s strategy of driving inclusive growth through innovation and strategic partnerships.
Managing Director of 247 Travels, Tunji Adeyemi, said the partnership addresses one of the biggest challenges faced by travellers—the high upfront cost of airfare.
“Travellers increasingly want flexibility and convenience. Our partnership with FCMB enables customers to secure flights and spread payments over time,” he said.
Also speaking, FCMB’s Group Head of Premium Banking, Opeyemi Makinwa, said the product was developed to provide customers with greater financial flexibility.
“Customers expect financial services that fit naturally into their lives. Book Now, Fly Later provides greater flexibility and financial control,” Makinwa stated.
Customers can apply for the facility through FCMB’s Book Now, Fly Later platform or the 247 Travels website by selecting their preferred flight and completing a financing request.
