Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has encouraged Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing participation in the electoral process as a civic responsibility.
The cleric made the call on Sunday while delivering a sermon titled “Breaking the Curses of Life” during a church service at Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.
Speaking to the congregation, Oyedepo urged Christians not to stay away from the political process but to exercise their constitutional right to choose those who will lead the country.
“We have a civic responsibility as responsible citizens of our various nations,” he said.
He encouraged worshippers to obtain their voter cards and make informed decisions based on their personal convictions.
“Endeavour to secure your voter’s card. You are men and women of the Spirit and should know, based on your personal conviction, who to cast your vote for,” Oyedepo stated.
The bishop stressed that Nigerians have the right to participate in determining who governs them through the ballot box.
“We are not passers-by in our nations. We are bona fide citizens of the nation and we have a right to participate in who governs us,” he said.
While urging members to participate in elections, Oyedepo maintained that the church remains non-partisan and does not endorse political candidates.
“I have never carried a ballot box in my life, so I am not going to ask anyone to vote for me. I am already voted for,” he said.
He added that with millions of members, the church has a voice in the nation’s democratic process and encouraged worshippers to play their part by voting.
