The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi, has called on Nigerians to seek God’s intervention in tackling the country’s worsening insecurity, saying lasting solutions can only come from God.
Kumuyi made the appeal while speaking with journalists after paying a courtesy visit to Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia, who was represented by his deputy, Sam Ode, at the Government House. The visit formed part of activities for the ongoing Global Crusade in Gboko and Otukpo Local Government Areas.
According to the renowned cleric, although individuals may be responsible for violence and insecurity, God remains the ultimate problem solver.
“We know that, when bad things happen, there are people who are responsible for it, but the people are not the solution. God is our problem solver,” Kumuyi said.
He urged Nigerians to return to God in humility and prayer, expressing confidence that divine intervention remains the key to overcoming the nation’s challenges.
“God is waiting for us. He said, ‘If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and turn away from their sins,’ He is ready to solve their problems,” he added.
Kumuyi explained that the week-long Global Crusade was designed to encourage people to draw closer to God and seek His help in difficult times.
Despite the security challenges facing Benue State, the cleric commended the progress made in infrastructure and education under the current administration.
Speaking during the visit, Deputy Governor Sam Ode said the state government remains committed to promoting peace, unity and inclusive development while harnessing Benue’s rich agricultural and human resources.
The crusade comes shortly after Benue celebrated its 50th anniversary, as the state continues efforts to restore peace following years of deadly attacks that have displaced thousands of residents from their communities.
