Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, is scheduled to visit Benue State on Tuesday as part of activities under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), where she will engage with women, inaugurate major projects, and unveil a community ICT centre.
The visit forms part of the First Lady’s nationwide programme aimed at improving the welfare of women, families, and vulnerable groups while promoting grassroots development across the country.
During her stay, Mrs Tinubu is expected to meet with women and beneficiaries of the Renewed Hope Initiative to assess the impact of the programme and encourage greater participation.
10 Roads To Be Commissioned
One of the major highlights of the visit will be the inauguration of 10 newly completed roads in Makurdi, constructed by the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia.
The roads, which span approximately 11.5 kilometres, are expected to improve transportation, boost economic activities, and enhance the living conditions of residents.
According to the state government, the projects form part of more than 45 roads completed under the current administration.
Community ICT Centre To Be Unveiled
The First Lady is also expected to visit Ihugh, where she will officially commission and hand over a new community ICT centre aimed at improving digital access and technology-based opportunities for residents.
Governor Alia described the visit as another step towards strengthening cooperation between the Federal Government and Benue State in delivering development and social welfare programmes.
Excitement Ahead Of Visit
Benue State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Scholastica Bensor, said preparations have been completed for the visit and expressed optimism that the programme would further support women’s empowerment and community development.
She also encouraged residents, community leaders, and support groups to welcome the First Lady and participate in the activities lined up for the event.
The visit is expected to further promote the objectives of the Renewed Hope Initiative, which focuses on improving livelihoods and creating opportunities for women and vulnerable groups across Nigeria.
