The family of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has described the successful rescue of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her twin sons as proof that unity, citizen cooperation, and strong security collaboration can help tackle insecurity in Nigeria.
In a statement released after the victims regained their freedom, the family expressed gratitude to God, security agencies, and Nigerians who supported efforts that led to the successful rescue operation.
According to the family, the incident demonstrates that insecurity is a national challenge that requires collective action beyond politics, ethnicity, religion, or social status.
They commended President Bola Tinubu, Governor Seyi Makinde, the Inspector-General of Police, the Nigeria Police Force, the Oyo State Police Command, and the Department of State Services (DSS) for their roles in securing the victims’ release.
The family particularly praised the intelligence-driven efforts of security operatives, noting that coordinated action among agencies was crucial to the outcome.
While celebrating the safe return of the victims, the Adelabu family stressed the need for sustained cooperation between government institutions, security agencies, community leaders, and citizens in the fight against crime.
They also remembered other kidnapping victims still being held captive across the country, calling for continued efforts to secure their freedom and reunite them with their families.
