The Ogun State Police Command has recorded a major breakthrough in its fight against crime with the arrest of two suspects allegedly linked to a kidnapping and murder case in Edo State.
The suspects, identified as Gafaru Adamu (25) and Muhammed Sanni (20), were apprehended in the Atiba area of Ijebu-Ode following intelligence-led investigations by operatives of the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit.

According to the police, preliminary findings revealed that the duo are wanted in connection with a kidnapping incident in Okada, Edo State, where two abducted victims were reportedly killed.
Investigators also believe the suspects are members of a seven-man kidnapping syndicate operating across multiple states, raising concerns about a wider criminal network.
During the operation, security personnel recovered a police camouflage uniform and three mobile phones believed to be connected to the suspects. The items have been taken into custody to aid ongoing investigations and forensic analysis.
The Command stated that since the alleged crimes occurred in Edo State, the suspects and all recovered exhibits will be handed over to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Commending the officers involved in the operation, Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, praised their professionalism and intelligence-gathering efforts, describing the arrests as a significant breakthrough.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to preventing Ogun State from becoming a safe haven for criminal elements and pledged continued collaboration with other security agencies to tackle crime.
The police also appealed to residents to remain vigilant and continue providing useful information that could help security agencies combat criminal activities across the state.
