A peaceful evening of worship turned into a heartbreaking tragedy in Kaduna State after suspected bandits reportedly attacked a mosque during Maghrib prayers, leaving a young boy dead and several worshippers injured.
The incident occurred in Namama community, located in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State. According to reports, worshippers had gathered for evening prayers when armed attackers suddenly invaded the area and opened fire.
The attack reportedly happened during a period of heavy rainfall, catching many residents and worshippers off guard. In the chaos that followed, a young boy identified as Adamu lost his life, while several others sustained injuries.
Those injured were said to have been taken for medical attention, as families and community members struggled to come to terms with the shocking incident.
The development was brought to public attention by security analyst Bakatsine, who shared details of the attack on X (formerly Twitter). He expressed concern over the continued attacks on vulnerable communities and questioned how much longer civilians would remain exposed to such violence.
The incident has once again raised fresh concerns about insecurity in parts of Kaduna State, where residents continue to face threats from armed groups despite ongoing security efforts.
