Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has moved to shut down growing transfer speculation after comments made by Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle sparked widespread rumours about his future.
The speculation began after Chelle explained why the Galatasaray forward was left out of Nigeria’s upcoming friendly matches, suggesting the striker was focused on sorting out a possible club move.

The coach’s remarks quickly triggered fresh reports linking Osimhen with several European giants, with many fans believing a transfer announcement could be imminent.
However, the Nigerian star has now addressed the situation, insisting that the comments were misunderstood and taken out of context.
In a message shared on social media, Osimhen revealed that he personally spoke with Chelle following the interview and clarified that the coach never intended to create controversy.
According to the 27-year-old striker, the Super Eagles boss has great respect for Galatasaray and simply wanted to avoid distractions while discussions about his future continue.
“Coach Chelle’s comments have been blown out of proportion. He has great respect for Galatasaray and never intended to create any controversy,” Osimhen said.
The former Napoli star also expressed appreciation for the coach and reaffirmed his commitment to the national team.
Osimhen urged fans and the media to ignore the transfer rumours generated by the interview, stressing that unnecessary speculation should be avoided.
His statement comes amid intense interest from several top clubs across Europe, with his future remaining one of the biggest talking points ahead of the summer transfer window.
Despite the ongoing rumours, Osimhen’s latest comments suggest there is currently no official announcement regarding his next move.
For now, the Super Eagles forward says supporters should disregard the speculation and focus on the facts rather than social media reports.
