Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has called on residents of the state to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration period to pray for lasting peace, improved security, and economic prosperity in Bauchi State and across Nigeria.
The governor made the appeal in a Sallah message released on Wednesday through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado.
In the message, Mohammed congratulated Muslims in Bauchi State, Nigeria, and around the world for witnessing the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
Eid-el-Kabir, also known as Eid al-Adha, is one of the most significant Islamic festivals and symbolises faith, sacrifice, obedience, and devotion to Allah, following the example of Prophet Ibrahim.
Governor Bala Mohammed urged Muslims to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, love, patience, tolerance, and total obedience to God during the festive season.
According to him, the celebration provides another opportunity for reflection, prayer, and strengthening peaceful coexistence among Nigerians despite ethnic, religious, or political differences.
“Eid-el-Kabir presents another opportunity for reflection, prayer, and renewed commitment to peaceful coexistence, unity, and mutual understanding among Nigerians,” the statement read.
The governor also encouraged residents to continue supporting government programmes and policies aimed at improving the welfare of citizens and promoting development across the state.
He stressed the importance of seeking divine intervention for peace, security, and economic growth at a time when many parts of the country are facing challenges.
“Residents should use the festive period to pray for enduring peace, security, and economic prosperity in Bauchi State and Nigeria at large,” Mohammed stated.
The governor further reassured residents of his administration’s commitment to good governance, infrastructure development, healthcare, education, youth empowerment, and protection of lives and property.
He also urged citizens to celebrate responsibly and remember the less privileged by extending kindness, support, and compassion during the festive period.
In addition, Mohammed pledged to continue promoting political tolerance and healthy democratic engagement across party lines in the state.
“May Allah accept our sacrifices and bless our state and nation with peace, unity, and progress,” the governor added.
The message has sparked reactions online as Nigerians continue to exchange Eid-el-Kabir goodwill messages and prayers for peace across the country.
