The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has encouraged children across Nigeria to believe in themselves, stay focused, and never stop dreaming.
She gave the advice while celebrating the 2026 Children’s Day, urging young people to remain hopeful about the future despite challenges around them.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Anambra First Lady described children as the pride and future of society, stressing that every child has the potential to achieve greatness with the right support and opportunities.
According to her, quality education, good guidance, innovation, and hard work are key to helping children succeed in life.
“To every Anambra child out there: believe in yourself, stay curious, work hard, and never stop dreaming. The future is bright, and it belongs to you,” she said.
Dr Soludo, who is also the founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo initiative, spoke on this year’s Children’s Day theme, “Future Now: Promoting Inclusion for Every Nigerian Child.”
She emphasised the importance of building a society where all children — regardless of gender, disability, social status, or location — have equal access to education, healthcare, protection, and opportunities.
The governor’s wife further assured that Anambra State remains committed to creating a safer and more progressive environment where every child can learn, grow, and succeed without discrimination.
“As we continue to build a smarter and safer Anambra, we must remain committed to creating an environment where every child can dream and succeed regardless of background,” she added.
Dr Soludo also encouraged children to uphold discipline, patriotism, and moral values as they prepare to become future leaders.
Children’s Day is celebrated annually on May 27 to honour children and promote their welfare, education, and development across the world.
This year’s celebration has sparked renewed conversations about child protection, inclusion, and access to quality education in Nigeria.
