Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says he fully trusts the club amid the ongoing 115 financial charges hanging over the Premier League champions.
Guardiola, who recently confirmed he will leave City after 10 years, addressed the controversial case involving alleged breaches of Premier League financial rules between 2009 and 2018.
The Premier League charged Manchester City in 2023 after a lengthy investigation, but the club has repeatedly denied all allegations, insisting it possesses “irrefutable evidence” to defend itself.
Speaking on the issue, Guardiola said he believes the club acted properly and maintains confidence in City’s leadership throughout the period under investigation.
“I trust them. I spoke with them and trust how they behave and how they did,” Guardiola said.
Although Guardiola joined Manchester City in 2016 — during part of the period being investigated — he noted that many current players and staff members were not involved at the time.
During his decade at the Etihad, Guardiola transformed City into one of Europe’s dominant clubs, winning multiple Premier League titles and several major trophies.
Despite growing speculation surrounding the case, the independent commission handling the matter is yet to announce a final verdict.
