Manchester United are reportedly edging closer to completing a deal for Atalanta midfielder Ederson as transfer talks between both clubs continue to progress.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, discussions between Manchester United and the Brazilian midfielder’s representatives are moving positively, although the club is yet to give final approval before the transfer is officially completed.
The 26-year-old midfielder is said to be interested in joining the Premier League side and is reportedly pushing for a move to Old Trafford.
Reports indicate that Manchester United are preparing a five-year contract for Ederson, while the proposed transfer fee is expected to fall between €45 million and €50 million.
Negotiations are believed to be focused mainly on the structure of the payment as both clubs work toward finalising the agreement.
Speculation around the transfer intensified after Atalanta manager Raffaele Palladino left Ederson out of the squad for Friday’s Serie A match against Fiorentina.
Speaking after the game, Palladino confirmed that the midfielder’s absence was linked to ongoing negotiations with a major club.
Although he did not mention Manchester United directly, the comments have further fueled reports that a move to England is close.
Ederson has become one of Atalanta’s key midfielders in recent seasons, earning praise for his energy, tackling ability and strong presence in midfield.
For Manchester United, the signing could provide more balance, strength and depth in the middle of the pitch as the club continues rebuilding its squad.
