British heavyweight boxer Derek Chisora has backed Anthony Joshua to defeat Tyson Fury in explosive fashion when the long-awaited all-British showdown finally takes place.
Chisora, who has fought Fury three times during his career, predicted that Joshua would stop the former world champion within four rounds, insisting Fury’s recent comments are driven by jealousy over Joshua’s commercial success and fan appeal.
Speaking ahead of the proposed blockbuster clash expected later this year, Chisora claimed Joshua continues to attract bigger audiences and generate more attention than Fury despite both fighters remaining among the biggest names in heavyweight boxing.
According to him, Fury may continue with mind games and verbal attacks before the fight, but he believes Joshua will settle matters quickly once they step into the ring.
Chisora said Joshua has gone through difficult moments in recent years but appears focused again and ready for the challenge, adding that he expects the former unified heavyweight champion to produce a dominant performance against Fury.
Anthony Joshua is scheduled to return to action on July 25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he will face Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga in what is being seen as a preparation fight before a potential mega-bout with Fury.
The fight will mark Joshua’s first contest against a recognised professional boxer since 2023, excluding his high-profile stoppage victory over social media personality Jake Paul in December 2025.
Tyson Fury, meanwhile, recently bounced back to winning ways after defeating Russian heavyweight Arslanbek Makhmudov on points in April at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The former WBC heavyweight champion is also expected to take another warm-up fight in August before facing Joshua.
Promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren have reportedly agreed that the blockbuster fight will only go ahead if both fighters avoid defeat in their upcoming bouts.
