Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has officially submitted his presidential nomination forms at the national secretariat of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja, formally signaling his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election under the party’s platform.
Amaechi confirmed the development in a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, where he announced his entry into the race and reaffirmed his commitment to seeking the nation’s highest political office.
In his statement, he said he had submitted his nomination documents at the ADC headquarters, describing the move as his formal declaration to join the presidential contest in a bid to address Nigeria’s challenges and contribute to national renewal.
He further stated that his aspiration is driven by a desire to restore dignity to Nigerians, rebuild national unity, and reposition the country for global respect and progress. According to him, the broader goal is to deliver peace, prosperity, and development to citizens across all regions.
He also emphasized that the mission ahead is clear, noting that efforts would be focused on rebuilding the country and improving the lives of Nigerians through purposeful leadership and national cohesion.
