The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has ruled out the possibility of joining or merging with any political party ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisting that its platform remains open to individuals and groups interested in becoming part of the party.
Speaking during an Eid al-Adha gathering with party members and leaders in Ilorin, Kwara State, ADC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, declared that the party would maintain its independence while welcoming new members from across the political landscape.
According to Abdullahi, the ADC is positioning itself as an alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which he accused of failing to address the country’s pressing challenges.
The former minister criticised the current administration over rising insecurity, economic hardship, and what he described as poor governance, arguing that many Nigerians are struggling under worsening conditions.
He expressed concern over the increasing cases of kidnapping and violent crimes across the country, saying the situation has left many citizens living in fear.
Abdullahi also pointed to growing poverty and economic difficulties, insisting that Nigerians should consider supporting the ADC as a vehicle for political change in the 2027 elections.
While addressing party members, he urged them to intensify grassroots mobilisation and prepare for the political battle ahead, stressing that victory would require commitment from both party candidates and supporters.
The ADC spokesperson further stated that the party’s candidates are expected to adhere strictly to its manifesto and principles, adding that the leadership would actively support candidates throughout their campaigns.
Confident about the party’s prospects, Abdullahi predicted that the ADC would emerge victorious in both Kwara State and at the national level in 2027.
He also claimed that the party is fielding experienced and credible candidates, while calling on Nigerians to play an active role in shaping the country’s future through their support and participation.
